Welcome to C’SPACE 2025 !
C’Space is the national rockets launch campaign, the appointment between students and space.
Remember to download the « C’SPACE 2025 Participant’s Guide » before the launch campaign because it will not be provided on site.
Organised by the Centre National d’Études Spatiales (CNES), C’Space 2025 will take place from 5 to 12 July. This event offers young people the opportunity to bring to life the projects they have developed throughout the year. Rocket launches, CanSat drops, and experimental balloon releases will punctuate a week-long gathering that brings together students and professionals from a wide range of scientific and cultural backgrounds.
Once again this year, the flagship event for students passionate about space will be held at the military camp in Ger, home of the 1st Parachute Hussar Regiment (RHP), near Tarbes in the Pyrénées.
Thanks to the support of volunteers from the association Planète Sciences, around 200 participants are expected to attend. These young space enthusiasts will have the opportunity to put their projects into practice, from design to implementation, including the integration of on-board scientific experiments. Throughout the year, and as a team, students are faced with every aspect of a multidisciplinary project.
C’Space gives students the chance to bring their highly technical projects to life and enjoy a unique and rewarding experience. In total, around fifty mini-rockets, twenty experimental rockets, ten CanSats, and up to two experimental balloons will take to the skies above the Ger plateau. Supervised by CNES, which ensures all safety measures, a dedicated launch zone is set up to accommodate the various project take-offs.
With continued support from Planète Sciences, whose mission is to promote science education and hands-on learning for young people, teams and their projects are supported throughout the year.

CanSat France competition
Launched in 2009 as part of C’Space, the CanSat France competition has become a key event for young people with a passion for space exploration and advanced technologies.
The challenge is a significant one: to build a satellite the size of a soft drink can, which will be dropped from an altitude of 150 metres by a drone to carry out specific scientific and technical experiments. Each year, teams of talented students take on the challenge.
Each participating team must complete a primary mission, defined by a set of specifications, and add at least one free-choice mission that encourages innovation. These missions might involve atmospheric data collection, simulating a terraforming process, or precisely identifying the landing site.
Projects are assessed by a jury of experts, who award the team that has produced the most outstanding work based on several criteria.
The competition continues to grow year after year, attracting increasingly ambitious projects from committed and enthusiastic teams.

The Centre national d’études spatiales
The National Centre for Space Studies (CNES) is much more than just a French space agency, it is a true pioneer of space exploration. Since its creation in 1961, CNES has been working tirelessly to make space a major issue for our society. Its headquarters is based in Paris, but its activities are distributed across two space centers in France, one in Toulouse and the other in Kourou, French Guiana.
In close collaboration with its European partners, CNES conducts research and development projects for the study of Earth and the Universe by designing and launching state-of-the-art satellites. The CNES is also known for its commitment to youth and education by organizing the C’SPACE every year, a rocket launch campaign that allows young people to learn about space technologies.
In summary, the CNES is a key player in space exploration, a driver of technological innovation, and a defender of scientific education in France.
